Memorial Shoot – Tribute to Harry Keller

On Sunday, May 22nd, the Lower Merion Rod and Gun Club held their 2016 Memorial Shoot in honor of Harry Keller – a long time club member & director who passed away earlier this year.

The day’s activities were kicked off with opening remarks by Club President John Chain. John paid tribute to Harry and recognized him as a long time Club Member and Friend who worked endless hours at the club which included activities as the Fish Rodeo, Wednesday’s Shoots,  Board Director and a key member of the “Thursday Work Group”.  There wasn’t anything at the club that Harry didn’t touch or be involved in.

John also recognized in attendance were Harry’s wife, Carol Keller, along with Carol’s sister, Sue.

There were 9 squads on the day (6 more than normal) totaling 45 shooters. Those shooters were divided into 3 classes of 15 shooters each. The winners of each class were:

Class A     Mike Endy with a 99

Class B     4 way tie between Tom Weis, Bruce McMichael, Mark Betzko, & Lou Shivak with 92s. With Tom and Bruce leaving, there was a 25 bird shootoff between Mark & Lou; which Mark won with a 24. Mark donated his prize money back to the club going toward the Keller Memorial Building fund.

Class C    Randy Markley with a 84

A very special Thank You to George Lauderback, in his unselfish manner, for donating $500 towards the building project.

John Chain and the Managing board of directors want to THANK everybody that attended this special day.
